watering the celestial garden | necros worldbuilding ramble thread

hey! so this is where im going to be posting about one of my universes, the star garden universe. but before i actually post anything on this thread im gonna answer some questions real quick.

q: whats the star garden universe
a: the star garden universe is basically a collective of rps that mostly i run (although i think theres at least one in the universe ran by someone else, darksea, or well there was) that are all in the same universe. most of them are on discord. an rp you might know thats in the star garden universe is nsgp (which has moved to discord as well, as a note).

q: whys it called the star garden universe
a: originally, it was called the necroverse bc i created it, but bc in the sort of "heart" of the rp universe/where the universe began- an rp called iaety- where the worldbuilding is supposed to be sort of communal, i changed it to the star garden universe. might change it in a bit idk.

q: will the forum ever get an rp in the star garden universe?
a: i already tried to make an fwrp set in the star garden universe- its since moved to discord, as stated earlier. but maybe ill try my hand at another one if i see thered be enough activity to sustain one.

q: ya like jazz
a: no

Re: watering the celestial garden | necros worldbuilding ramble thread

okay, space. gonna talk about space.

so space is crawling with a bunch of different alien species, governments, etc. all running around the galaxy. one of the oldest and still-existing of what are known as the first adventurers are the atrokos. they have watched worlds burn and flourish; they have created and destroyed entire races. learning every bit of their history would take decades, if not centuries.

they live in almost every pocket of the galaxy, with their numbers in the medium-to-high billions, although it may not seem that way due to the fact they cluster in covert colonies whose locations are not revealed to the general public. from here, several atrokos operate in their high levels of galactic government. many of them have high-ranking positions in the the cia/tcia (the council of intergalactic affairs).

their natural curiosity about other species has led to many younger atrokos having some kind of obsession with another species, most notably terraboos. but what IS a terraboo, you might ask? ill explain in the next post. and also elaborate on the other aspects of this world bc theres a lot more than space. were gonna get ~interdimensional~ in a bit. ok ending this post now

Re: watering the celestial garden | necros worldbuilding ramble thread

k so to preface this theres probably more types of -boos in the galaxy but im gonna focus on terraboos here. alright? alright.

so a terraboo is someone who is obsessed wiith earth and its cultures (or as they tend to see it, culture) as well as humans. they usually idealize earth and the human race. a big staple of terraboos is that most of them dont believe in global warming, dont know about the world wars, and group all earth cultures together into one big "human culture". they also incorporate words from various earth languages and a man-made creole from the movie terraboo culture originated from, which, like them, generalizes and smushes together all earth cultures into one. some words are even borrowed directly from the movie (ex: ni helanasto). others are just the words in their original form, just used improperly (ex: kardashian).

many terraboos "adopt" a human like one would adopt a star or highway. some of these humans are celebrities; others are minor to high-profile celebrities. in-universe, this is why a lot of abductions happen. many of these humans are pushed into the galactic entertainment industry.

terraboo fashion mostly derives from the motifs of the movie the subculture originated from, which is a mix of american 50s styles, japanese 80s street fashion, large beehive hairdos and makeup like those seen in 60s bollywood movies, lots of colorful scarves, and a plethora of ancient egypt-themed accessories, all with a sort of space-y/futuristic twist due to a lack of earth textiles. even among non-terraboo aliens, this is how people view humans as dressing, and thus even in regular media humans will tend to be dressed in this way. a subculture within the terraboo subculture- which is slightly more aware of earth than the main subculture- makes most of this fashion pastel and lacy while dying the hair vivid colors. this style also incorporates multiple large scrunchies to be used as chokers, bracelets, ankle bracelets, etc. and involves the inappropriate use of earth makeup (ex: using lipstick as eyeliner).

some notable terraboos include:
- karen shgimlo (influencer)
- hwafmov qanaf (politician)

terraboos can be found in every species that has had contact with or is a species that has achieved space travel and galactic relations.
