Time just squinted at her. He figured she did it so fast to just get it away from him poking at her past.

(Lol Time just being like "S u s p i c o u s")
Echo glanced up and then back at her sketchbook, asking, "Do you like butterflies?"
She hoped to have the topic changed now, and that Time would stop asking questions about her reaction and anything connected to it.

((I would say that's all Time's except for R!Time))
"I said I honestly couldn't care for any animals, that includes butterflies. I guess." Time said, with a shrug, "But I guess they're ok."
Offline
(R!Time is a cinnamon roll, I love him)
"They are beautiful," Echo said. "So beautiful... they are some of the greatest models, but butterflies don't like to pose for too long."
Offline
Time was back to being confused, "That sounds kinda weird."
Offline
Echo, continuing to draw, said, "Probably, but if you think about it long enough, it makes sense."
Offline
"No, I think I get it. It's just the way you put it made it sound freaky."
Offline
"...Oh..."
She sounded a bit disappointed, maybe with a sadder tone. Echo thought she didn't sound... "freaky"... but now she was questioing it.
"I-I'm sorry..."
Offline
"Tch, why do you keep on saying sorry?"
Offline
(Lol he reminds me of Byakuya from Danganronpa with his "tch". Now I'm headcanoning SF!Time with Byakuya's voice. Tbh they are kinda similar in personality imo)
Echo stopped herself from saying 'sorry' again before saying, "I...I uh..."
She sighed and continued drawing.
"Nevermind. What do you think of my drawing so far?"
She held up her sketchbook towards Time, showing the sketch. It was a bit messy, a mix between the graphite of the mechanical pencil and the wax of coloured pencils. Obviously, it was of the butterfly and flowers.

((Oh who's he, exactly?))
"Nevermind? Nevermind?" He sighed, "...Whatever. It looks fine. It's messy though."
Offline
(Iirc he's the Ultimate Affluent Prodigy. He's the tall one with blond hair and glasses)
"Hmm..."
Echo continued to work on the drawing, cleaning up the lines.
"...Do you like, uh, art?"
Offline
((Oh I see, why not, I'll support the headcanon))
"...I genuinely don't care. For the most part. I just don't care." He frowned.
Offline
(Yaaaay! :D)
"O-oh," Echo's voice cracked. "...Okay..."
Offline
"Hm. What? What's wrong??" Time questioned
((Time stop being mean))

"I-it's nothing, nothing at all," Echo nervously laughed, trying to sound more upbeat, not meaning to sound so upset. "It's not important, to be honest."
There was a pause, a hesitation, before Echo muttered out a quiet question that was barely above a whisper. She sounded nervous, possibly scared, of questioning, but she seemed to have enough bravery to do so.
"So, uhm, why do you not care about... anything? This... uhm... this whole time we've been talking...like... you just...s-sorry, I shouldn't... I uhm, I... sorry..."
Echo trailed off, now seeming to give up on asking before Time could say anything. She felt rude for asking in the first place, so naturally she tried to apologize before she could make the situation worse than what she felt like it was. Echo's emotions were a mess at the moment as her brain was fogged and jumbled from trying to not ask anything that would accidentally make Time uncomfortable. She was trying her best that she could to befriend the other, but Echo was sure she wasn't doing much of a good job. Echo was starting to spiral again, those twisting messes of thoughts and mixed emotions starting to churn as she continued to draw while staring almost blankly at the paper.
(Lol and then you have Echo who apologizes for existing)
(Sorry for the crappy POV. It's 3:30 am lol my brain is messy)

"Nothing? Fine then." He said. When Echo asked him the question, he put one of his hands around his ear and cupped it, "Huh? What did you say? Speak up, please."
Offline
"It... sorry, it wasn't important," Echo apologized.
Offline
"No. I wanna hear it exactly. Why don't you tell me?"
Offline
"I-it was, uhm, it was... a kinda rude thing for me to ask," Echo said, now closing her sketchbook. The butterfly had flown away.
"I'm sorry..."
She stood up awkwardly, accidently stepping on her own wing and then jumping and nearly falling. Luckily, Echo caught herself.

"Hey c'mon I just wanna know what you said. For you to repeat it." Time told her, "It has something to do with me? I believe?"
Offline
"Well, yea, it does have something to do with you," Echo sighed. Hesitation.
"...Well, uhm, what I asked was like, uh, was why you, just, uh, don't care about, er, care about anything? I'n sorry, it sounds rude and I didn't, oh gods, I just-"
Echo continued to apologize.

"Ah. There it is. Well then, let me tell you, it's a fairly simple answer." he tapped his forehead, "It's because it's smarter."
Offline
"Smarter?"
Offline
"Yeeeep." He confirmed, nodding, "It's smarter."
