the terrifying thought of the night is when rex kidnaps angela he slowly and deliberately sings all i want for christmas is you while playing a piano and like, thats not rlly plausible bc i dont think all i want for christmas is you was out in the 70's, but STILL!!! its SO CREEPY. like all i want for christmas has the potential to be SO creepy and fit rexs vibes ill have to go scour youtube for a horror cover in the morning

oh right i should elaborate on the trio.
ok so theres this trio. their names are kurt, rex, and angela. they have a Love Triangle and have all been friends since childhood.
kurt is a nervous but well-meaning guy, angela takes no sh*t and would probably run into a collapsing building to go be a hero, and rex is an obsessive theater kid who never learned boundaries. hes also bitter. out of the trio i think hes the edgiest and possibly has the most traumatic backstory. their whole conflict is that see, when they grow up, angela starts going out with kurt. rex loses it. after some confrontations where he continues to lose it, homeboy starts a whole terrorist organization to get back at the world he saw as hating him and him exclusively, more at 9. eventually he dies and so does angela, which breaks kurts heart. unless...? 😳😳😳

powers. i should probably elaborate on those
kurt has the ability to see and communicate with the dead, even when theyre consciously invisible to the naked eye. he also knows how to summon them, but thats not rlly a power, more like a tradition that was passed down in his family for generations upon generations. he can also sense and visualize a person dying if he touches them; he can feel a person's life force being drained. this isnt rlly a power either but he has a sort of ghostly entourage that lives in his jewelry.
angelas power was fire manipulation; she could manipulate and create fire, though it drained her energy to create large flames. she could also fly bc Just Fairy Things(tm).
rex had the power of charmspeak, though if you were aware of his charmspeak, it wouldn't work. this is what allowed him to coax so many people into joining his terrorist organization, how he landed so many lead roles when in school musicals, etc.

etymology time (might add to this later)
rex- rex's first name means "king" and his surname, which im changing to amsel here, means "blackbird". thus, "king of the blackbird(s)", which foreshadows his reign as leader of the blackbirds.
kurt- kurt's first name has a lot of different meanings depending on which source you go to, methinks. his surname means "ghost" in german, referring to his ability to see the dead.
angela- angela means "angel" and himmel means "sky". so, sky angel/angel of the sky. might change her surname. hmm
mackenzie- mackenzies first name can mean things like "child of the wise leader", "born of fire", "comely", etc. i prefer to go with the born of fire meaning. geist means ghost. so, ghost born of fire.
