"Probably. Let's walk around more 'til we find one."
Offline
"Well, I would expect to run into one soon." He said.
I guess they were exiting the park area and starting to enter more of the city?
Offline
Yeah, the (fabulous) Narrator over here would say that at this point they would be entering more of the city.
They be doing a lot of walking and talking.
Echo nodded in agreement to Time, "Yea, probably."
Offline
They really do b doin a lottta walkin and talkin tho
"Do you really have any places here that you really enjoy being at?" Asked Time.
Offline
Echo shrugged, "Yea, but there not exactly at cafes or anything like that..." She pointed up at a tall building.
"I like rooftops and the ledges of buildings, like skyscrapers. They remind me of when I was younger..."
"...Kind of stupid places to go or to like, but I like to chill there. Kinda great view if I choose a good spot."
Offline
"Why do they remind you of you were younger?" Asked Time.
Offline
Echo slightly smiled, staring up at the buildings they passed, "Because no matter how bad things get, there is always a place you can be above the world... there is a place you can forget who you are, because no one is there to tell you the truth or what to do..."
Echo looked back at Time.
"...Do you have a place like that?"
Offline
"I guess so." Time shrugged, "Maybe, maybe not."
Offline
"It I'd always good to have a place like that."
Offline
"I would think so." Time nodded, they started to near a cafe.
"What about there?" He pointed.
Offline
Echo gave a thumbs up.
Offline
((... got any ideas?))
Well, I guess Time entered, it was a pretty empty cafe, nobody was really around.
Offline
(Do I seem like someone who has the capability to have ideas lol)
(I'll try to have ideas oof)
Echo followed behind Time, looking around.
Offline
((Yes you indeed doo))
Well, you know, there was just, the normal cafe stuff. Yeah.
Offline
(Oof lol)
Yay! Normal cafe stuff!
Offline
Well I guess, Time kinda just stood around. Maybe he was expecting Echo to buy stuff first? idk.
Offline
Echo was squinting at the choices, trying to read what the lettering said.
"Maybe you go first?" Echo looked over at Time. She seemed to be the one to not do things first, like ordering food. She looked back at the letters and squinted again.
Offline
Time shrugs, "Sure."
He walked up and ordered just a drink. Probably just, something with tea and stuff.
Offline
Echo finally ordered after Time, shakily asking for hot chocolate. The person taking the order (the Narrator has actually forgotten what they are called) nodded and wrote the orders down.
Echo, not really knowing how much the orders cost, handed the person forty dollars, much more than the actual cost, and quickly stammered out, "U-uhm, just keep the, uh, keep the change please."
Echo turned quickly and headed to a table to wait for her order, the look of internal screaming on her face. It was obvious that Echo didn't have social interaction often at this point, if it wasn't obvious before, and that Echo was very bad at ordering food.
Big oof moment.
Offline
((Cashier?? I think? Or is that just for stores?))
"You realize that not even both of our drinks together come close to forty dollars, right?" Time asked her.
Offline
The Narrator thinks the word is barista but might be wrong but is pretty sure.
"Just realizing," Echo muttered, staring at the table. "Oh well."
Offline
((I think baristas are the people who do espressos and stuff))
"Yep." Time nods, "Remember to count the money before giving it away."
Offline
Oof.
Echo continued to stare at the table, and muttered something along the lines of, "I panicked."
Offline
"Well, don't panic, then." Time responded.
Offline
"Oh."
Not much of a reply.
