"...About people and the intentions of them." 

Echo made a pained expression. 

"Just... about what to do about people and stuff. Like, she wants to kill them and I don't. We argue about that, about who is right. Like, I dunno, stuff like that. And other things, I guess. I dunno. Just... we argue." 

 

"I think once I asked," Echo said. "Yea, once." 

"It doesn't matter why I need to, the end result will be good, ​that's what she said to me."  

"Like... right now?" 

"Uh..." 

Echo stared straight ahead, looking very awkward. 

"Uhm... Octave, that wasn't a good answer you gave me back then." 

There was some silence. Echo looked at Time. 

"She's... asking why... it's not good enough of an answer. Uhm..." 

"It... it doesn't answer anythin', Octave." 

"...She's... uhm, wondering why you're still talking to me..." Echo said to Time. 

She switched back to talking to Octave with, "Hey, don't change the subject!"

Echo shook her head. 

"No, she means in general, like, uhm..." 

 

"...Like, uh, why are you trying to help me? She... she tried to kill you, like, by controlling my body. She wants to know why you're still around me... I guess I also have that question in mind." 

"No, that was my question as well..." 

"...She's gone quiet..." 

 

Echo sighed. 

"She says yea, and I know I'm suppose to agree but... I just wish I didn't have to talk to her in general..." 

"...Uhm..." 

They were playing, they were playing, they were playing- Don't you see her too- Let's play tag- Who are you- 

Pointing the gun at the man- "Better him than us"- Where did- Who am I- 

But everything was fine- Liars- liars- liars- Why did everything bad have to happen to- I don't understand- Home now threatened- 

Gone. 

Are we the same person- 

"...I'm not, uh, s-sure," Echo half-lied, fiddling with her thumbs. She seemed more like she was trying to forget something rather than remember. 

"I'm not sure. My memory is... blurry... so... yea... yea, blurry." 
 

"...Kinda... yea.... kind of..."

"Yea..." 

Echo knew she had to tell Time the full truth for him to help but...  she rather just forget. She wished to forget everything, especially the bad things. Really, truthfully, she didn't know exactly when she first met Octave, but she had a pretty close guess. But Echo wanted to forget it, and to forget everything else. Yes, some things actually were blurry... Gods, when did everything become "blurry"? That was hard to remember too. Wasn't it during training? Training? Training? Training? 

"...Just... kinda..." 

He's sick- Kill- They- Him- He's sick- Sick- Sick- Sick- Can't let- Know-

"...I dunno..." 

Needles- Screaming- More needles- Medicine- Why- Stop- Painful- Why- Pain- 

"...I don't know..." Tears were forming in her eyes, her head starting to form a migraine.  "I... I don't know- I... I... I don't know... I don't know... Everything..." 

"...Everything h-hurts... and... and they... They did..." 

She was scratching at the inside of her elbows, looking stressed and anxious. Echo wasn't looking at Time, but rather straightforward and away. She was upset, but clearly not at Time. She sounded like she was talking to herself. 

"...And, I just, no, I don't know... I think we were children back then... I don't know... I... we... we were six? No, we were four when I met Octave... a-and... And then... and then they took us away at nine? Ten? Yeah, t-ten...  and then they... they..." 

Echo had gone from scratching at her elbows to her neck and face, looking lost and zoned out as she talked. Her voice slowly came to a stop.

She was starting to cry again.

Echo stopped scratching and covered her eyes with clenched fists, trying to force her tears to stop. 

Gritting her teeth and trying to stop her voice from wavering as she turned away from Time to hide the fact she was crying, Echo said, "It's not important, I think."
