Time quickly dashes back and inhales, firing a spell point-blank.
A ray of turquoise fires, I wouldn't know if Octave would know, but it's some time magic. Time slowing magic.
Offline
It hit, as Octave didn't have time to react.

Well then, besides the sudden pain that Octave felt, it seemed that Time was moving faster, way faster than her... everything was, the swirling wind behind her was moving even faster now, barreling towards her after Time gave another hand movement.
Or was she moving slower than everything else?
Offline
Octave gritted her teeth in frustration and managed to create another barrier to shield herself. She wondered how long the effects would last, or if she would have to use her manipulation ability. Really, that would be tiring, though.
Offline
Who knows how long it'll last? Who knows.
As Octave was attempting to block the sphere. Time pressured her again by firing the same ray again.
Offline
The shield broke and Octave did get hit by the sphere, but as she was knocked back by the force of the sphere, she teleported again before she could get hit by the ray.
She reappeared some ways off, sitting in a tree. Maybe she was planning to wait out the effects of the ray before attacking again?
Offline
Well, Time noticed Octave far off in that tree of hers. He sighed, and dispelled his whirling ball of winds, and quickly started to advance.
Offline
The ground some feet ahead of Time started to turn a grey colouring before spikes shot up. It seemed her magic was working slower as well, giving Time more than enough time to step out of the way.
Offline
Time did do so, and simply walked around the spikes, he raises a hand as he fires more spectral darts of force at Octave.
Offline
Octave disappeared again, and behind Time some spikes shot up. She doesn't reappear yet, possibly the effects of the ray earlier started to affect her teleportation speed.
Offline
Time stopped his advance and started to direct his attention to everything around him. He was sure to keep on moving to avoid spikes and such.
Offline
Octave reappeared in a different tree and pointed a pistol at Time. She looked bored as she slowly pulled the trigger.
Offline
Well that gave plenty of time for Time to react. He made sure to move quickly towards her again, firing more rays at her to attempt to slow her down and suppress her.
Offline
A ray hit and Octave disappeared.
She reappeared behind Time in yet another tree and slowly shot at his leg.
Offline
Time moved out of the way again. He sighed, he should end this soon.
He started to cast a spell onto himself and, if Octave could observe from her area, he seemed to be moving faster.

Well, this whole murder plan was not working, Octave concluded in her mind. Well, Echo's mind. Or was it her own mind? Wait, maybe she should focus on murdering and have an existential crisis later. Yeah, that'll work.
Octave fired the gun again.
Offline
Time rolled to the side and advanced quicker again, before Octave knew it, he was up on the branch beside her, holding up an arm to cast.
Time was quick to complete his spell. A large shockwave explosion erupted out from his hand, rattling the trees and leaves around them.
Offline
Octave simultaneously had reached towards Time when he cast the spell, her hand grazing the tree branch instead of his arm.
The force of it was great enough to knock Octave out of the branch to the ground. It happened really fast. Strangely, Octave didn't scream or anything. Maybe the ray effected her voice as well? Or maybe she wasn't scared of falling. In an instant, though, Octave painfully was on the ground.
She had hit her head pretty hard on the tree and then the earth; the gun had flown off some feet away. Octave wasn't moving, seeming to be knocked out from both the spell and from hitting her head so hard.
The branch Time was on suddenly disintegrated into grey ash, light blue "numbers" floating in the air around him.
Offline
Time was quick to put the two together. He was foolish enough to get within arms reach of her, she could summon weapons, he should've expected the possibly her being able to manipulate reality.
He rolled out to prevent getting injured on the fall. But as he stood, he was quick to take caution as "numbers" started to swirl around, however, it did not deter him from slowly approaching Octave. Holding a spell in his hand if she were to suddenly leap up or react.

Her hair shifted from the black and white ombre to a white and silver-cyan ombre. Her eye opened, the sclera dark grey instead of pitch black.
Maybe it was the shock of pain, but Echo, or was it still Octave, didn't move. She opened her mouth but didn't say anything, blood from biting the inside of her mouth during the fall noticeable on her teeth and tongue. She looked in an immeasurable amount of pain, which seemed to not be from the fall or explosion, but perhaps from herself.
Her squinted gaze wasn't on Time but rather in a daze up into the cloudy sky instead.
Offline
Time walked up to her, "Get up." He said with a underlying firm tone that's not normally in his voice.
Offline
A slow blink in response. Her mouth moved as if trying to speak, but nothing sounded out other than a simple, "Yes sir."
Echo/Octave managed to sit up, her head jerking in a twitchy motion a few times. Her eyes didn't meet Time's, but instead she was staring at her shaky hands. She kept reaching towards her throat but her hands would jerk back down again.

"I have triggered this spell to fire and track as soon as you teleport, so do not try it." He warns, "So, first, what is it?"
Time was sure to stay a few steps away from her, away from arms reach.
Offline
When she speaks again, it sounded like two voices clashing and trying to over talk each other.
"What do you mean?"
Offline
"You're doing it right now. You have two people inside of you?"
