Ok, so I don't want to get too far ahead of myself rn, but I really do want to write more during Thanksgiving break than I have lol.
I need to set writing goals. Seriously. Not for quality or quantity really, in particular, but what I should work on.
I think what I need to work on is pretty obvious haha.
But I was also thinking maybe I should try writing more in Chinese, especially for my Chinese characters. 'Cause my current Chinese writing ability for fiction is lamentable lol.

Things That Have Happened in the Sole Peer Review of the School Year From 2020-2021
1. Instead of writing a personal narrative they wrote a third-person-perspective story
2. It didn't even meet the minimum page number requirement
3. So many grammatical errors lol
4. That was fun
5. Second peer edit--more grammatical errors but at least they were on topic
6. 0 drama in writing is not fun to read
7. No one I peer review for knows dialogue grammar rules
8. I didn't get a peer review out of the 2 I was supposed to get
9. The person who peer reviewed for me did give good feedback but they didn't know how to press the space bar apparently
10. Reading pain exists
11. They also said I lacked stuff but from what I could tell they just read the 1st page out of the 5 or so I wrote

Lemme explain.
So 20 minutes of class--which is half of the time--was my teacher going over my essay and Works Cited page
It was supposed to be anonymous but y'know. For interviews, you cite with your name. So the part with my name was on there for 5 minutes lol. My teacher realized, thanked me for offering the example, and then proceeded to point out (reasonably ofc xD I'm just,,, hhh) every stupid mistake I made in the essay itself. Like not highlighting transitions. (I can write transitions but for some reason I just didn't highlight them lol.) Forgetting a page number in an in-text citation. NOT SPELLING OUT NUMBERS.
Of course, that was more helpful than any peer review I've ever gotten in my life, but was the anxiety worth it? Trying to figure it out
I'd like to clarify that I am fully grateful to my teacher lol but whether that gratitude and the reason for it can balance out with the emotional imbalance I had at the time is up to questioning

My teacher has given me both a blessing and a curse and that is called extensive feedback, and now I can't just blow over the process of revision. Now I actually have to try.
Ugh.
Also she wants to use the revised version as an "exemplar". That's encouraging and very motivating but also incredibly frightening. It scares me to think there are gonna be kids in my state, either in community college or in high school, viewing my writing as an example.
I mean, on one end, there are people who tell me I write well, but usually I just think they're being nice. This is a novel thing to me.

Sometimes I do grammar correctly and don't know how it could be improved, and like, yes, something my teacher pointed out was so on-point and I feel stupid for not realizing it,,, ehehehe ah well.

Ditched my Bio essay for a bit in lieu of revising my essay for the first time.
The first time is actually the more tedious time. The second time is me reading it aloud.
By "time", I don't mean I scroll through once. I mean, like, day. First day. Second day.
Right now two words are making me go beyond the page limit, so I am the definition of suffering. Probably doesn't matter though; I'll likely go over the limit either way. The conclusion needs work.
(You guys probably don't get why I italicized that--don't worry, future me won't get it either.)
Despite the tediousness, though, it's actually kind of fun, knowing I'm improving my own writing.
