depends on how motivated I am, and whether I can 1). come up with non-generic-sounding names and 2). make a decent introduction.

Kinda like Gate with dragons?
Offline
yes to both, but the main difference from Gate is that this starts out in 2029 in human years, and the beginning of the third arc in WoF, and instead of an attack on earth, one of the animus dragons (probably turtle) feels their magic being turned off, for lack of a better term, by Jerboa II, and, knowing of Moon's new prophecy, were just

and made a split second spell for help, and it just to happened to conjure a portal right in front of Carrier Strike Group 10, led by the USS Enterprise, en route to South America, where the drug Cartels have started a war, and are doing well enough to require US intervention.
so when a portal appears in front of this group, which moving at nearly 30 knots (very fast), all the Enterprise can do is

and sail on through; the rest follow, as their job is to protect the Enterprise.
I've got character names, aircraft types, the stuff; I just need to start writing.

So it's litterally just 1 ship in a dragon world? Where do the dragons come into this?
How man aircraft? Just wondering about that too.

i should've clarified that a couple escorting destroyers initially follow the Enterprise through, unable to turn fast enough. A while after that, call it 30 minutes, the rest of the group, which is the other 3 destroyers, 3 cruisers, and 2 supply ships, sail through the portal, as they are still under orders to protect the USS Enterprise, and, funnily enough, comms don't work through trans-universal portals. The destroyers charge through first, fully expecting the big E to be under attack by an Avengers-level threat, with the cruisers just behind, and, most importantly, the supply ships tagging along, mostly because they aren't armed, and they are at war on earth.
when the supply ships pass through, however, the portal slams shut; the Enterprise is perfectly safe, btw.
oh, and ~90 planes, 72 of which are fighters. half F-35 Panthers (Lightning II sounds like Thunder's nephew), the other F/A-18 Super Hornets (subject to change, Air Force has researched, designed, built, and flown a new fighter in 1 year, which is a record. specs are soon to be announced).
on another note, I should mention the USS Enterprise I am talking about is not USS Enterprise, CVN-65, but the new USS Enterprise, CVN-80, 3rd ship of the new Gerald R. Ford-class supercarriers. which have railgun fighter launch systems, and the the fighter jet equivalent of a NASCAR pit lane.
lastly, a pic of Carrier Strike Group 10 during peacetime:

ok, I'm kinda just wondering the size of their force, that's all. Bc looking at it almost any dragon army really outnumbers them, guestimating army sizes with the little hints given in the story (Except for ones like, nightwings and leafwings and stuff like that)

but guns
and missiles
Offline
yeah, and dragons have flaming, ice, poison breath and can speedily attack underwater.
I would also assume that they have better maneuverability in the air
Offline
ok fair point, but they're American ships
once they hear of Wasp and the oppression and attempted snuffing of the Leafwings, it's WWII all over again
Offline
So? What exactly makes an American ship diffrent than say, a Russian one? They're both metal and such.
Nah, it'd be kinda more like a single fleet vs the largest army in the world, Seeing that Hivewings probably have the most population out of any dragon tribe in the WoF world. But yea ig it do be chaos. Unless they get into contact with other dragons
