"True, they looked a bit slime-ish," Echo nodded.
Offline
"Whatever. It doesn't hurt to hit them with a water cannon."
Offline
Echo wasn't sure her magic was really even strong, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
Immediately after her thought, she felt the sudden tensing in her body, and she didn't need to check ahead to see if they were close to the monsters. Her whole mind felt on edge, her senses suddenly sharpening, making her hyper-alert. Echo didn't know why that would happen, maybe it was the years of fighting and trauma, so she guessed it was some kind of intuition.
It made her prepared, somewhat, to have that gut feeling of danger being close, but Echo didn't much like the feeling.
"They're close, very close," Echo frowned, squinting as she stuck the flashlight between her teeth. She started making hand motions in front of her, preparing an attack. The soft dim of light blue just barely made the outline of her hands visible.

"Nice." Time took a deep breath and hade an aura of blue gather around his hands.
Offline
In a swift movement, Echo trusted her hands foward, the soft glow zooming and hitting one of the monsters with a sploosh!
The monster had a harder time lighting up as the other two monsters flared into motion, one coming at Time with suprising speed.
Offline
Time quickly diverted his hands to the faster one, quickly releasing a powerful, devastating torrent of water.
Offline
The water was able to split the monster into four smaller ones, all four unable to burn due to the water. Three of them charged at Time again, while one spat a sizzling liquid at him.
Having already split one in half, Echo had pushed two of the monsters far away with air manipulation while one had attached itself to one of her wings. She ripped it off with one hand and yeeted it extremely far off, which gave her some more time.
Where the monster once was on her wing was now badly burnt, a few charred feathers falling to the ground as she moved to cut one of the monsters in half with sharp air currents.
Offline
Seeing that she was taking on one of the monsters Time moved on to face the other two, from his palms, sprung magic homing missiles from the two of them.
Offline
The missiles hit, causing both of them to fly back and hit the ground painfully. They squirmed around, as if unable to actually move to attack, probably from the shock of being hit with missiles.
Offline
Well, seeing that they were stunned, Time moved on with the attack and continued pressing on the attack with these missles.

The Narrator cannot narrate very well but they dead now.
Echo looked over, having already finished off the monsters she was fighting. There was a strange look on her face, although it was a bit hard to see due to the poor lighting. .
"Are, uh, you okay?" Echo asked, sticking one of her hands into her pocket. "Injuries or anything?"
Offline
Time squinted to try to get a better look, at her face in the dark light.
"You should be worrying about yourself. How are you?"
He looked down to the sizzling part of his coat. It was pretty small, though.
Offline
She looked a bit pale, and her expression was as if she was clenching her jaw when she wasn't speaking.
"I'm good," Echo lied, trying to smile. She looked away into further along the path.
"T-there won't, uh, won't be any monsters for a while, I think."
Offline
Time nods, "Did you get hurt or anything?"
Offline
"N-nothing too bad or anything," Echo lied, again. She laughed lightly, nervously.
"We should continue on, yea?"
Offline
Time narrowed his eyes, but he continued on walking.
"We're heading this way, might as well commit to it."
Offline
"Y-yea..."
Echo was still able to keep up, but to her, the cave felt extremely hot (which it wasn't at all), sweat starting to bead on her forehead from the effort to look like nothing was wrong. Her skin had paled slightly, although hard to see in the dim light, and Echo bit the inside of her mouth to keep herself from coughing. She kept the flashlight in her hand steady, though, and focused ahead.
They had a while until the next set of monsters.

Well, Time is a guy who likes when people aren't talking, most of the time, so for the most part, he stayed silent. He payed little to no attention to Echo, he didn't even really hurn his head back to look at her.
After a few silent moments of walking, he started to whistle, just a little thing to occupy himself.
Offline
Echo didn't even notice Time whistling as she was distracted by how hot she felt. She rolled up her hoodie's sleeves and crossed her arms, hiding the burned hand. Her palms and fingers had turned into a sickening purple and red, blood somewhat oozing from the burn. She bit her tongue as the pain worsened in her leg and hand, as well as her burnt wing started to hurt. There was a small trail of feathers behind them as some fell out around the burn.
After a good amount of minutes, Echo leaned against the wall as she walked, feeling sick. She didn't say anything, although she was starting to clearly lag behind.
The sizzling part on Time's coat that was mentioned ealier had eaten away into a noticably larger hole, the edges softly hissing as it continued.
Echo muffled her coughs with her arm, sticking her injured hand back into her pocket despite how much pain ran up her arm while doing so. She wished it wasn't hot so maybe her healing ability would kick in.
Offline
Time was aware of his sizzling coat. But during these moments he didn't really decide to look back at Echo.
However, after some more walking Time decided to turn his head back, "You seem like you're lagging."
Offline
Echo shook her head, "I'm not lagging. Let's... let's keep going."
Offline
"Mhm. Suureee." Time said, turning his head back to the front, "You look a bit, I don't know, hot or something."
Offline
Echo took the opportunity to make a joke and replied, "Oh? Thanks. I know I'm g-good looking but I... I don't think it would be a reason for me to seem to lag... lag behind."
Offline
Time took a long sigh and turned back to face at her with narrowed eyes, "Hot. Heat. Warm. Flaming. High temperature. Do you know what that is?"
Offline
"I'm not an idiot," Echo stared past Time. "I w-was making a... a joke. I'm fine."
She nervously laughed right after, scratching at her neck with her uninjured hand.
