Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

A slit at the back is slightly more complicated (in my experience) because the front part of the skirt can block your knees' movements.

Yes I did. I was curious to know. This will help in my clothing design.

I'm super late but thank you so much for drawing RA!Chan! She looks wonderful, and even without referencing she looks very accurate 👌 Thank you again!

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I still haven't drawn Exspiravit, now that I notice it.
Time to find a new dynamic pose Ig.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

Oh but I also wanted to draw AgK!Germaine. Maybe I'll try to do that today? Or tomorrow maybe. It's her spear what discourages me from trying, bc I want a non-static pose plus the spear and I do not know how to draw that.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I'm almost finished with classes for today! Afterwards I'm going to try to draw :D with luck I'll be able to do something which I can show.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I thank google and all other search engines for having reference images.
Rough lineart again, since I'm too tired to do more atm.

I used, once again, an actual human as reference for the pose lol. So obviously I had troubles with the face and stuff. Idk what happened to the eyes and her expression is... idk.
Anyways just leaving this here and tomorrow I'll try to fix stuff plus finish lineart and color.
I do not know how to draw weapons so the spear is kinda weird too. The tip is too large but long enough.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

It's probably because I'm not used to drawing culottes. And even then they didn't come out as I wanted xD.
But I like how the hair looks hehe.

I'm probably going to mess it up while coloring bc Germaine's palette is hard to do with my colors. Blending is tough.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I'm coloring and I think I figured out the correct combination for the skin.
The hair is the next challenge.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

Looking through my brother's art book, I found a coloring technique named the underhand grip and it's really useful! It helped me to fill in large areas of color without much pressure.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

It's awesome because the color gets filled dimly and then you can apply more pressure with the regular grip to make the shading :D

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

Okay so i went on the internet and looked it up. This is the basic grip (hoping images will show)

and I don't even do that correctly because it hurts my hand. Anyways, the underhand grip should look as follows:

It's easier to do softer pressure for large areas like that, in my experience.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

Yeah it's mostly useful for coloring with pencils imo. Markers don't really need that technique.
I love markers sm but I can't use them atm lol.
