"And that's why they're scared of you."
Offline
"Wha?! That doesn't make any sense! I'm adorable! Echo! Tell him I'm adorable!" Adrik protested.
"Uhm, uh, Adrik's adorable," Echo said with a slight nod.
Offline
"That is your thought." Time says, "The dentists can think otherwise."
Offline
"Wha?! Wha?! Aww, so they don't understand how cute and harmless I am?!"
Sir-
Offline
"Aren't vampires like, superhumans?" Time said, "Super speed, strength and immense physical prowess in everything really?"
Offline
Adrik narrows his eyes, squinting at Time as if to size him up. He looks almost smug, but there's a bit of a mix of something else.
"Yea, so what? I have morals! So I'm totally harmless!" Adrik smiled.
'When I want to be,' Adrik thought, keeping his smug look. 'Gods, he's weird. How did a sweet person like Echo befriend him of all people? He's so boring.'
Adrik tilted his head a bit, saying, "So there's no reason to fear me! Especially since I'm so adorable!"
Echo quietly laughed, shortly and almost unnoticeable.
Offline
"Nobody with abilities like you is harmless." Time replies, still keeping that (assumedly) blank face that Adrik is bored by, "Your family seems to be filled with fighters, so unsurprisingly you must be one too."
Offline
You know how when dogs get aggressive their fur sticks up into sharp little bristles? Adrik's hair doesn't exactly stick up, but it somehow looks... sharper? More pointy? Something about Time's statement came off badly.
"Pfft! You barely know us!" Adrik laughed. "Fighters? Maybe Silence, but the rest of us are rather... docile! So no, I'm not much of a fighter or a person who enjoys fighting."
Adrik is not exactly lying, but he is definitely someone who you shouldn't fight if you want to not aliven't.
"And I am harmless! Or, at least I'm peaceful! And adorable! So people totally shouldn't fear me! Does no one's mothers teach them to not judge by the apperance of people? Silly people!"
Offline
"I didn't say you were someone who enjoys it. I didn't say you were not peaceful. But there is by no chance that this family hasn't had conflict in the past."
Offline
"You're missing the pooooint!" Adrik huffs, pouting. "Just agree I'm adorable already!"
Offline
"Wait, that's all you were after?" Time asks
Offline
Adrik whined with crocodile tears, "Yeaahhhhh! You haven't even at least agreed I'm cute!" He started to lean in more on fake crying, so now tears were running down his face. To be honest, he's really good at fake crying.
"W-wait, don't cry!" Echo panicked. "Time, please tell him he's cute! He is, right?!"
Offline
Time stares at Adrik for a moment, with a slightly annoyed face, he looks over to Echo, and looks back to Adrik, "Uhhh sure, yeah, you look cute."
Offline
Adrik immediately stops crying. He sniffles a bit and says, "Really? Am I?" He has a very smug aura absolutely radiating off of him. Echo doesn't notice this.
Offline
"Not with that smug aura." Time almost instantly responds.
Offline
Adrik bursts into (fake) tears, crying, "Echoooo! Your friend is so meaaaan!"
Echo looks a mix of concern and panic, so she reaches over (careful of Lyre who is still on the bed) to Adrik and Pat's his head.
"Uhm, uh! I-it's okay! He's like that to everyone! There there?"
Adrik continues to cry, so Echo looks over to Time and asks, "Apologize to him?" She seems confused on what to do in a situation like this, and she's near tears herself.
"Yeah! Apologize to me!" Adrik sniffles.
Offline
"...Sorry." Time says, seeming to want to just be done with this but at the same time trying to sound sincere.
Offline
Adrik immediately stops crying, which is probably really annoying. He smiles, "Yaaaay!"
Echo seems a lot happier now that Adrik stopped crying.
The group can hear footsteps coming up the stairs.
Offline
"Oh, looks like someone is coming upstairs," Time states the obvious.
Offline
There was a knocking sound before North pops his head into the doorway.
"Hey, hey!~ North here!" North smiled. He walked into the room. "Wassup?"
Echo gave a thumbs up.
Adrik waved frantically, "Helloooo!"
Offline
"You look fairly chipper for entering a setting like this" Time gave his observation to North.
Offline
"Well, you gotta look at the good side of this!" North smiled.
Offline
"... I suppose." Time shrugged.
Offline
"That's the spirit!" North cheerfully said. "Hm. It's awfully dim in here." He went over to the window and opened the blinds. It didn't add much light to the room.
"Ah, it's good out, isn't it? Real pretty."
Echo gave a slight nod while Adrik suddenly appeared beside North, peering out the window.
"It's cloudy," Adrik announced.
North smiled, "Yep! The clouds make nice shapes! That one looks like a whale!"
Adrik looked at where North pointed.
"Huh, I guess it does!" Adrik nodded rapidly, failing his arms a bit in his excitement.
Echo didn't move from her spot, watching her siblings. She seemed really peaceful in that moment, just observing them and their happiness over clouds. She started to pet Lyre again.
Offline
Time just for the moment didn't say much and observed North.
Lyre enjoyed being pet by Echo, as always.
