Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

Almost done with basic lineart! I'm gonna have to do cross-hatching and coloring when I wake up because I've been staring downwards for like four hours tsraight now and my neck feels like it's gonna fall off o.o

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I kinda came up with everyone's designs on the spot xD so I'm surprised to find that most of them look pretty.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

Finished basic lineart! I feel kinda acconplished xD
Tbh this is the largest drawing I've attempted in... some... four years?
The largest (in area) one I've ever done was one of three A4 paper sheets taped together horizontally. It had characters representing the planets and I used it as a poster for my bedroom xD

I might be able to use this one as a poster too even if it's not as big xD

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

So, this is how the piece looks atm and also how I'm leaving it for the time being.
The angle is a bit skewed at the top but there isn't a whole lot of distortion so that's fine.

Many kudos to my mom because she suggested the idea for the drawing as well as the positions and the phrase at the bottom.

Looking back, I probably should have given delivery man a mask.

Policeman also should have had one.

Welp.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I started coloring and I like how the skin colors look.
I'm doing the hair and so far I'm proud with my progress, but I wonder if I'm layering too many shades of brown. It's interesting to work with a limited color palette tbh xD since I'm being realistic and not going with fantasy colors, which leaves me with dark browns andΒ  black as the colors I can use.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I have noticed that my style for drawing eyes has changed a bit.
I'm trying to do more circular irises instead of ovals. I can't always do it, but I try xD. And I've also been trying standalone circular pupils in a way they look more natural and don't blend into the eye. This is harder but I shall eventually get the hang of it. I hope.

Tip of the day: Don't bounce around in your seat while trying to lineart. Half-dancing to music while arting makes the task harder.

Add fluffy hair here.

This guy I'm drawing has fluffy and curly hair and I just can't draw it correctly -_-. He has lots of hair smh.
Why do I make difficult character designs xD

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I'm kinda nervous since I did a pose I've never tried before and uh I added a bit of foreshortening
Anyways I linearted it yesterday so there is No Going Back now.
Just shading is missing.

How long are your normal digital drawings take?

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

@Time
Depends on what it is and how much effort/attention I put into it xD
Generally, for a single person (or two person) drawing, it can take from 2-3 hours if I'm giving it my undivided attention. If the design is simpler then it might take around an hour.
Either way, linearting and sketching are what mostly take the large part of the time. Coloring is easier for me and with clipping layers I save time with shading.
If it's a larger or more complex drawing I'll probably work on it in the span of several days so I can't really say.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

I did it.
I actually needed a Medibang account or something in order to be able to access the comic format previewer xD but now I have it owo.

Tbh naming my art account made me remember why I sign my pieces the way I do xD and it's because it's a shortened version of my first online art pseudonym? It reads spliz with some extra details and in my Messy Cursive style xD but it's actually short for Speedy Lizard.

Re: Specter's Stash of Sketchy Schemes

Aaaanyways I spent like half an hour on the first panel and I regret nothing.
What I will probably regret later is my decision to draw in my actual style and not use the simplified style the og version of my comic has.

Also my comic needs a name still hhhhhh
