Why
They see him just chilling in the select screen, why not find out where he's from? Or where other people are from as well? If they don't know who Snake is, they sure don't know other characters there.
Like, I'm sure I've never really searched up anything like "Which game is Snake from?" I've just made the connection that he's from Metal Gear Solid.
Sorry if I sound like, condensing or anything really negative. It's just sometimes I find it annoying to not be aware of some of the most simple of things, or make any attempt to know.
Like, I don't even have a switch and I know where all the characters are from in Smash!

Yep, they are, but man, the storyline is so freaking detailed. If you’re someone who’s into plots, even reading a summary is great. Or one of those short 12 minute comedy summaries

Not really, since there are only like three other characters with animal code names. I might be wrong.
Anyway... Fun fact + Tricia. There are 5 “snakes, can you guess each of their full code names?
But technically, there are 7 snakes if you count two other characters.

Well looking at the characters, I think there's more than three. I looked briefly at MGS4 character list and
Solid Snake, Psycho Mantis, Raging Raven, Laughing Octopus, Revolver Ocelot (though idk a revolver is really an adjective), Liquid Ocelot, and Crying Wolf. That's just MGS4. Idk if they have the same characters tho.
No. I can't bc I only have basic knowledge, but looking at the MGS4 character list there's a Solidus Snake

It’s because he has advanced aging, which was how he was cloned so he could become a fighter for them faster.
My favorite is definitely venom snake. If you want, I could give his backstory, but it would spoil the two 5th games.
