Quoting from my Homethread. I haven't decided which one to develop yet, but here they all are. When I narrow it down, I'll develop them some more.
I have a couple of ideas, none narrowed down yet.
A Couple of Deities Walk Into A Bar: Lighthearted, humorous RP about a group of deities living together. They possibly own a bar (do not fear, gods cannot get drunk, so instead they sell divine liquids). Fluffy, with literal gods. Not really concerned about mild power-playing, due to the nature of the RP.
It's Non-Euclidean!: A cosmic horror RP, except we play the eldritch horrors. Turns out they aren't that bad, even if they don't really understand human beings. Opportunities for both lightheartedness and angst. Maybe more of a plot than ACoDWiaB Mocking Lovecraft is essential. Go nuts with creature design.
How It All Ends: Sci-Fantasy set in the past, where humanoids are becoming dominant and dragons are going extinct (as a mix of megafauna dying due to humanoid competition, and young dragons/eggs being slain by hunters). Dragons are kinda like physical deities/cosmic horrors that can be killed, if difficult. Post-apocalypse, in a way. More angsty and existentially horror, but still opportunities for funny. Some dragons (especially those that generate electricity) have created artificial cybernetic body parts, hence Sci-fantasy. Moderate plot. Also creature design potential.
Bugtime Story: Fantasy fairy tales and adventures... excepts it is bugs. A world of bugs with adventure and whimsy. Bug knights, bug wizards, bug kingdoms, all the bugs. But something is threatening this buggy world, and a group of invertebrate heroes must come together to stop it. Most heavily plot-oriented. (Most recent idea, so it's a bit less fleshed out)
I also forgot one of the oldest ones, which I first thought of back on the WoFMB. Basically, it's a superhero/super-villain world, but it's kinda deconstructed. Superheroes are those who are chosen to protect the city and be popular by the morally ambiguous government agency/group-that-is-independent-of-the-government-idk. Villains, meanwhile, are the rejects, hence why villains often get weirder powers or stuff than heroes. So there's both villains who aren't really villainous, heroes who aren't really heroic, and also those who are genuinely villainous or heroic. There are also Rouges, who flat-out quit the system and are working on their heroic/villainous goals on their own. But something upsets the system, and whether status quo will be kept or broken becomes ambiguous..
Idk words aren't working for me right now.

I like these, the first one because of going nuts with character design, and the second because hollow knight

With the thought of creating more hollow-knight esque characters I now think I'd consider joining actually all of them!
Even if I've never played the game, I like it's look.

Yep! Bugtime Story is a subtle reference to Hollow Knight and Bug Fables. Both are fantasy-based bug worlds. I also really like bugs.

Should I set limits on what types of bugs are allowed for Bugtime Story? Or should I take advantage of Webkinz/Spongebob-like fishbowls to allow for aquatic party members?

Hmm... maybe if you want to? If you do, I think just loose parameters would be better.

I agree with you on that. I think the main thing I'll require is invertebrates. Everything else I'm easy on!

Beware, for invertebrates opens the door to Bobbit Worms.

I welcome my beloved worm.
It be decided, Bugtime Story will be planned... and it will included Bobbit Worms.

Oh bobbit worm?
Offline
I would think they're giant sea monsters bc they're so long compared to your average bug

Either we have teeny-tiny bobbit worms, really tall bobbit worms, or giant sea serpents that wreck bug ships. Cursed idea but some small vertebrates exist and are treated as giant incomprehensible eldritch horrors.

I am for giant serpents. They can also a reason if you want to lock the setting to a singular place. Boats have a very high chance to get destroyed if they travel too far out to sea or whatever.

Not to mention other possible giant sea monsters, like jellies and octopods.. Also legends of mermaids = marine invertebrates.

Now to actually think of bug kingdoms.... ahhhh.

Is it like medieval times kingdoms?

Mostly yeah. Some cases of "futuristic technology." Fun medieval times.
I'm considering one of the kingdoms being really rich, with a royal being a Goliath beetle.

Saying the word "Goliath" made me think of a moving kingdom on the back of some large thing
Offline
Ooooh, thank you for the idea, Time! Maybe a giant land snail (like A. fulica or A. achatina)? But SUPER big. Howl's Moving Snail, haha.
Offline
Alrighty developed it some more.... we got Bug Magic now.
Offline
:0 epic bug magic yeah

BUG MAGIC (also sorry for Poofing)
Also considering Giant Sapients like big boi tarantulas, huntsmen, giant centipedes, and more!
Offline
Ah yes. Large creatures.
How big would they be exactly?
Offline
Sorry for disappearing!
The biggest creatures are marine invertebrates like bobbit worms, giant octopods, that sort of thing. They are considered Kaiju that rival mythical creatures like sparrows and geckoes in size. Below that, there are giant snails, atlas moths, wetas, huntsmen spiders, Goliath tarantulas, and the like, which are big but less "OH MY GOD IT'S GONNA KILL ME" like the things that live in the sea. They are mostly chill and one of them (a giant land snail) acts as the foundation of a kingdom. Everything else is smaller and more "normal" sized. I think Hollow Knight is a good example to explain what I mean.
Also, making a pantheon which will be connected to the quest of the RP. One of them is a consumed moth god of the moon.

"consumed moth god of the moon"
