The sun is only starting to rise over the water, bathing the city ahead in warm beams of light. People are beginning to stir and fill the subway stations. Meanwhile, breakfast is starting to be served at the school’s dining hall. Eggs, bacon, toast, etc. is abundant.

Laura hunched over her plate- which consisted almost entirely of bacon, save for one other item- as she inhaled her blueberry muffin. No one was taking her bacon. Not today and never again or else.

Alfred, still asleep, wasn’t aware of breakfast.

Meanwhile, there’s a “poof!” from behind a Starbucks. A flash of red hair that disappears as whoever it belongs to scurries into the nearest subway station.

Riven ate his bacon and chocolate chip muffin pretty slowly. He seemed much more interested in reading his book than eating breakfast.

Laura eyed Riven. Despite his disinterest in his breakfast, for all she knew, it was all a facade and he was planning to steal her muffin.

Tessa took a piece of toast and sat near one of the windows. She noticed the sky was beautiful and would have much preferred to take pictures instead.

Ivy trotted into the dining hall, rubbing the stickiness from her eyes with a yawn. She retrieved a plate of bacon and eggs, then plopped down at the table across from Laura and began to eat.

Laura cocked an eyebrow at Ivy. Why was the were sitting so close to her? She tugged her plate towards herself and began devouring her bacon.

Breach was there. Yes he was. He was eating in a mostly unpopulated table, and his plate seemed fairly plain, and he was eating rather silently and cleanly. Sitting beside him was his sword, sheathed and hidden in a dark cloth. Though idk if other people would know that.

Another poof and for a brief moment, there's a redhead that someone might've caught a glimpse of outside one of the dining hall's windows. The stranger immediately dives into the nearest bush.

Riven glanced up from his book and caught Laura eying him. He jolted a little bit in surprise before going back to his book and breakfast.

Tessa saw one of the bushes rustling outside the window, and when she got up to investigate, she noticed the slightest bit of red hair amid the leaves. A poof, and then she was a red panda and made her way outside to check it out.

Once whoever the redhead was heard the steps of red panda paws, she froze. The bush was still as well.

Riven looked up and saw Laura glaring at him again. In an instant, he yelped and turned into a cat out of sheer nervousness. He darted underneath the table with his book in his jaws.

Laura jumped to her feet, letting out something of a battle cry as she attempted to scoot under the table, fists flying.

Leaf piled their plate with scrambled eggs, fruit salad, and a powdered donut (they had a serious sweet tooth), and sat down at Breach's table.

Tessa went over and sniffed the bush, pulling back some of the leaves, only to find that there was indeed someone hiding inside. She poofed back to a human in surprise. "Uhm, hello?"

Riven darted away from Laura's fists as he ran to the other side of the table. The cat ended up hiding behind Ivy's chair, crouching near the ground with his claws unsheathed.

A pair of brown eyes peered back at Tessa. The stranger remained silent.

Tessa held out a hand, offering to pull this mysterious girl out of the bushes. "My name's Tessa, I don't think we've met before," she said with a smile. "I love your hair by the way!"

"Hey!" Ivy barked at Laura. "What are you doing?" In a flash, she'd transformed into a lioness, standing in front of Riven and letting out a growl.

The girl warily took her hand. Tessa might've noticed that her skin was strangely cold- too cold to be natural, probably. "... thanks."

This is when Laura slowly turned around and noticed Asterin. "... what're you looking at?"

Riven felt himself breathe a sigh of relief when Laura lost focus in him. He creeped out from behind Ivy and looked at her with an apologetic look on his face... well, as apologetic as a cat could look.
